This time, we gathered to explore an AI security platform that’s been gaining momentum across our organization: CrowdStrike, a next-generation cybersecurity platform we’ve been steadily rolling out. With strong interest from across the team, both in-person and remote attendees joined to dive into the “why” and “how” behind this powerful solution.
CrowdStrike & the Future of Cybersecurity
The session led by Jeff Ray, our Business Development and Network Engineering Lead. He kicked off with a deep dive into CrowdStrike’s role as a unified, agentic AI-driven security platform. Unlike traditional generative AI tools that respond to prompts one at a time, agentic AI—like CrowdStrike—can act autonomously based on the data it receives. This distinction is critical as we move toward more proactive, intelligent threat detection and response.
We explored:
- The evolution of cybersecurity, from ARPANET to modern endpoint protection
- The shift in security strategy post-2013 and why endpoint visibility matters more than ever
- Key acronyms like EDR, MDR, and XDR and what they mean for our infrastructure
- How telemetry and threat intelligence fuel CrowdStrike’s automation capabilities
And of course, we wrapped up with a well-earned lunch, because learning burns calories that need replenishing.
